Non-surgical rhinoplasty: what it can and cannot correct

Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses hyaluronic acid to soften small irregularities of the nose without incisions. See what it can and cannot correct.

Quick answer

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a medical procedure, without incisions, in which hyaluronic acid is applied at points on the nose to soften small irregularities, such as a slight bump or an under-defined tip. It does not make the nose smaller or fix breathing problems. The effect is temporary.

What it can soften

  • A small bump on the bridge.
  • An under-projected nasal tip.
  • Small asymmetries or dips.

It works by compensation: filling strategic points makes the profile look more even.

What it cannot correct

It does not reduce the nose, narrow bones, correct a deviated septum or breathing problems. In those cases, the assessment may indicate that a surgical consultation is the right option; Mya does not perform surgery.

Risks and why a doctor performs it

The nose has a delicate network of blood vessels. Non-surgical rhinoplasty therefore requires anatomical knowledge, careful technique and small amounts, always by a doctor. Swelling and tenderness in the first days are common.

How it works

Profile assessment, anaesthetic and hyaluronic acid applied at a few points. The session is short and you can usually return to your routine the same day, avoiding pressure on the area (for example heavy glasses) for a few days.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it last?

It is temporary; duration varies from person to person.

Does it hurt?

Anaesthetic is used. Most people describe mild discomfort.

Can it be undone?

Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with a specific enzyme if the doctor considers it appropriate.

Is it part of facial harmonisation?

It can be, when the plan justifies it. See facial harmonisation in the Algarve.

Take the first step with an assessment

At the consultation, the doctor examines you, explains the options and tells you clearly what is and is not suitable in your case.
