Quick answer
Eyebrow micropigmentation places pigment in the upper layer of the skin to shape, fill gaps or define the brow. It is semi-permanent: the colour fades over time and a touch-up is usually needed. The design is made to suit your face before starting.
Most common techniques
- Hair strokes: fine strokes that mimic hairs.
- Shading: a filled-in effect, like soft make-up.
- Combination: strokes at the front and shading elsewhere.
The choice depends on skin type, existing hair and the desired effect.
How it works
- Conversation and brow design according to your facial proportions.
- Choice of pigment colour.
- Application with topical anaesthetic.
- Touch-up a few weeks later, if needed.
At Mya, micropigmentation is performed by Suely Ribeiro.

Healing and aftercare
In the first days the colour looks darker and small scabs may form. Do not pick them, avoid sun, pools, saunas and make-up on the area until advised, and follow the hygiene instructions given.
How long it lasts
It varies with skin type, sun exposure and aftercare. Oily skin tends to fade faster. If you no longer like the colour or shape, laser removal is available.
Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
Topical anaesthetic is used. Most people describe mild discomfort.
Can I have it if I already have old micropigmentation?
It depends on the colour and intensity of the old pigment. Sometimes it needs to be lightened with laser first.
When can I return to my routine?
Straight away, with the aftercare advised for the area.
Is it suitable for everyone?
No. There are contraindications (for example some skin conditions in the area, pregnancy), checked before the procedure.
Take the first step with an assessment
At the consultation, the doctor examines you, explains the options and tells you clearly what is and is not suitable in your case.
